These are the kind of wraps and carriers currently included in our sling library and a little bit about each style. We currently have around 50 different options. The best way to get a proper look at them just now is to come to a sling meet, but if you are looking for anything specific, please do get in touch as we may be able to get it in for you. These photos only represent a small part of the library. I hope to catalogue it all online properly soon.
If you want to try things out or browse, please do come our sling meets (everyone welcome with or without a baby or sling!).
Hire is currently £5/week or £15/month or £30/3 months or £95/year, with slings being exchangeable in that time (so multiple different carriers can be hired during the same period, one at a time). We can facilitate multiple hires for reduced prices.
Deposits are either £10, £25 or £50, dependant on the item hired and are fully refunded whenever you stop hiring with us.
Accessories: Boots, leg warmers, coats and carrying covers etc. may be available at different times.
Terms and conditions, including instructions on caring for anything on loan from us can be found here.
Ideal for newborns until about 6 months, though can be used for bigger babies too. Really soft and versatile, these are extremely popular. We stock stretchy wraps in different patterns and types of material. There are also some stretchy hybrid wraps which incorporate rings or buckles, so some people find they can put them on and off more easily.
Large lengths of woven material in different sizes and designs for wrapping baby on your front or back in all sorts of positions. These are by far the most adaptable slings as they can fit any body type or mode of carrying, just aren't good for outward facing. But back wearing or a hip carry can have advantages over forward facing anyway, as baby is supported if they want to sleep.
These are popular for hiking or long walks outdoors where you may want to carry things as well as a child. A baby or toddler is strapped in with a safety harness, in a similar way to a car seat. These are only suitable once baby has good neck control and can sit up.
These clip together rather than tying, which some people find quicker or more intuitive. Different styles of carrier will suit different wearers and children and provide different options.
These are possibly the quickest song in terms of set up and quick ups and downs for tired toddlers. They come in all sorts of patterns and styles and are suitable from birth. Although you can swap shoulders and carry in all sorts of different ways, carrying is generally asymmetrical with a ring sling, which suits some wears more than others.
A cross between a wrap and a buckle carrier, these are super flexible carriers. Simply tie round your waist and then wrap the straps over and tie in different ways to suit your body and your baby. We have a range of shapes and sizes.
These tend to have a buckled waist belt and shoulder straps that can tie in place. They tend to feel softer than a full buckle carrier. Some are like a hybrid between a wrap and a structured carrier.
These are buckle carriers with no waist belt. Instead, the child's legs go through the base of the arm straps with fabric coming up underneath them between them and the wearer. They are normally used for back carries.
